The Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes for Lanker-Jenkins 2017 are sustainably farmed and sourced from the Monterey Coast and Central Valley in California. Juicy dark fruit, ripe red berry, savoury spice, mocha, vanilla and toasty flavours on the palate, at this price, it's a crowd-pleaser Cab. The Rutherford Wine Company is family-owned and family-farmed, and their strong connection to their roots is reflected in the Lander-Jenkins name: Reese T. Jenkins, who ranched and farmed in Lander, Nevada, is the great-grandfather of Rutherford's general manager.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: lamb Bolognese, beef enchiladas, barbecued ribs in sauce, hamburger, hard cheese.

Smooth and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon from California. Lander-Jenkins 2017 is great value under $20. Grapes are sourced from sustainably-farmed premium sites in Monterey Coast and Central Valley. Lovely mocha, ripe dark fruit and red berry flavours on the palate with a kiss of toasty oak spice. The Rutherford Wine Company is family-owned and farmed. The connection is Reese T. Jenkins, who ranched and farmed in Lander, Nevada and the great-grandfather of Rutherford's general manager. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
