Natalie's Score: 91/100

From the Rioja wine region, Lan Gran Reserva 2010 is a robust blend of Tempranillo, with small amounts of Mazuelo and Graciano grapes grown on 20- to 25-year-old vines. The wine is youthful, with fresh blackberry and black cherry flavours on the palate. Drinking well now though will also keep in the cellar for a few years. Pair with a veal roast.

Food pairings: herbed steaks, Portobello mushroom, chilli, soup, lamb chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Lan Gran Reserva 2010 is a full-bodied and robust Rioja red and a blend of mostly Tempranillo, with small amounts of Mazuelo and Graciano grapes grown on 20- to 25-year-old vines. On the nose, the wine is youthful with fresh blackberry and black cherry flavours on the palate. Acidity is mouth-watering and is a good cellaring candidate -- about five years. Enjoy now with a Bistec Encebollado. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
