This is the second wine from the Margaux estates. Rich with dark berry, plum, cedar brush and oak spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are structured and firm. Decant one hour prior to pouring with roast beef or try in 2021.

Food pairings: lentil stew, vegetarian lasagne, roast chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

From the Margaux in the Bordeaux wine region, Labastide Dauzac 2016 is an elegant red wine blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot from vines averaging 40 years of age. Look for mouth-filling ripe black fruit, plum, blackberry, blueberry, cinnamon and savoury herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are structured. Aged 18 months in French oak barriques, this wine is vegan-friendly. Good now, better in 2021. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
