Vintages Wine Panel: This, the second wine to Frescobaldi’s iconic Luce, is a blend of Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, matured for 12 months in French barriques. Always a huge hit with Vintages customers, this wine offers intense strawberry, blueberry, and currant fruit accented by mocha and spice. Built to last, it will show best after 2012; if you can’t wait, decant it and enjoy. My note: Smoky espresso nose with black fruit and dark spices. Good tannic grip. Decant 2 hours.

Food pairings: rare red meat dishes.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
