Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

At our latest wine tasting, one of our fellow sommeliers, Philippe Perreault, brought this wine to share amongst us all. It created quite a moment around the table. All of us so dubious, sniffed and swirled, we became silent, curiosity at it's highest! We sniffed and sipped and a chorus of raised eyebrows rippled around the table.
On the nose there were notes of petroleum, great minerality and fruits of cranberries.
On the palate, this Pinot creates quite stir. Not just a typical Pinot, but a mouthful of complexity. Fruits of raspberries and cranberries deliver the light red and tart fruits with a relative high acidity. Quickly vegetal notes of asparagus present and are followed by nuances of forest floor with damp foliage. The tannins are firm, but almost seem smooth next to the relative high acidity and gently the wine begins to balance itself, leaving you wanting to try more. The wine has a rather short finish but is a true wee gem!
It is a definite hit to drink just as is on a gloriously hot day, but I would serve this with a dish of shrimp in a white cream sauce served with a big dollop of creamy mash!
Bottoms up!
