Natalie's Score: 89/100

Winemakers Paula and Pablo Pizzella grow the grapes in Altamira, Mendoza. This dark, meaty and full-bodied Argentine wine sources its Malbec grapes from local growers, the Pizzella Family Vineyard (Ed Lehrman and Nick Ramkowsky). This La Posta is more robust than the winery's Angel Paulucci red wine with more licorice, dark fruit, chocolate, espresso and mocha from oak aging. Finishes with a clean minerality on the palate. Pair with a meat-lover's pizza.

Malbec food pairings: lamb cutlets, beef tenderloin, prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Produced by Laura Catena, Las Posta Pizzella 2017 is a fantastic value Malbec under $20 from the Mendoza wine region. Lots of ripe dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, espresso and mocha from oak aging. Tannins are fine grained and this luscious red is smooth and ready to drink now. - Community Wine Reviews
