La Posta Malbec Rosé from the Tupungato zone of the Uco Valley, Mendoza is a dry, light-bodied rosé of genuine freshness and vivid personality, crafted from 100% sustainably farmed Malbec sourced from the Domingo Fazzio Vineyard in the Agua Amarga zone, opening with an inviting nose of crushed red currant, juicy blood orange, dried rose petal and a whisper of watermelon rind that carries through to a crisp, mouthwatering palate with lively acidity and a clean, mineral-tinged finish. La Posta is the brainchild of Laura Catena, Harvard and Stanford-educated physician, fourth-generation Argentine vintner and one of Argentina's most prominent international voices for Malbec, who named the project after the traditional Mendoza tavern where small-farm growers would gather to share a glass and discuss the harvest. The Fazzio family's story is itself remarkable: the Domingo family's grandfather Salvador emigrated from Sicily to Argentina in 1917, and his descendants have been farming Tupungato's high-altitude soils ever since, with Domingo purchasing 100 hectares in the Agua Amarga zone in 2005. Winemaker Luis Reginato, whose own family has been growing vines in the Uco Valley since 1907, crafts this rosé in stainless steel to protect every nuance of cool-climate freshness. Serve it well chilled alongside a grilled chicken and herb flatbread, where the wine's bright red fruit and crisp acidity are a natural match; it is equally delightful with a herbed vegetable quiche, the wine's delicate floral notes and refreshing finish complementing every bite.
