This full-bodied red wine offers enticing aromas of bitter dark fruit, tar, toasty and spice. Barolo wines are rarely priced this affordably, so give this Piedmont, Nebbiolo-based grape wine a try. The tannins are huge and there will be plenty of fruit here to bring balance. A real gripper but I like it! Big, black with a tarry streak through the middle. Black cherry resistance and some dark spices. Perfect for black magic nights. Barolo wines are great candidates for the cellar given their aging ability. Piedmont's Nebbiolo grapes provide firm tannins that support this character. The 2012 vintage was a warm one.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A big ripe barolo. Huge aromatics with modern levels of fruit and tannins plus black licorice flavours. Drink from 2020-2023.
La Pieve B 2013 is a medium-plus bodied Barolo from the Piedmont wine region with smoky dark and bright red berry fruit, earthy truffles, toasty oak and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm and there is great acidity on this wine for food. Pair with a juicy slab of steak. - Community Wine Reviews
