Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

"There's something 'bout you baby I like."...or some such song. This wine reminded of a fresh bitten cherry. Ripe, juicy, lip-staining ruby. Strawberry, violets, smooth and just plain yum! Medium-bodied with bright acidity keeping all that fruit fresh and smoothing tannins. Points for value. Not meant for long term cellaring. Enjoy this elegant wine with turkey and cranberry sauce, saucy BBQ ribs, braised lamb shank.
Tasted: January 2016
La Grange Des Combes is produced in St. Chinian-Roquebrun and is 30 kilometres north of Beziers, a natural preserve for haut Languedoc. The vines are planted in schistous hillside soils with a south-south-east exposure. This is a red wine blend of 20% Mourvèdre, 50% Syrah and 30% Grenache grapes. Whole bunches of grapes underwent maceration and then the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
