Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 80/100 with the following review:

P: Strange but the first thought I have is that this smells like cherry flavored cough drops. Also smells a bit musty. Makes the back of my teeth hurt. It's a bit chalky and warms my throat with it's spiciness. Not bad but not good either. I'm neutral on this one.

A: No doubt it's a bit musty my lady, this is full of dusty dark cherries, iris, mud, clove and mint. All old barrels for sure. It's thick and zesty on the palate with musty cherries, licorice, clove and mint flavors. Length is ok but overall this is a bit austere and needs food such as spaghetti and meatballs!
This robust Italian red wine is made from grapes grown in vineyards at the foot of Campania's Monte Taburno. The Aglianico grape is known for its big tannins. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
