A dependable and approachable Californian Cabernet year after year. Black fruit, oak, smoke and spice. Firm grippy tannins so decant for 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: barbecued steak, pork tenderloin, hard cheese, veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Consistent quality from this reputable California producer. This 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon fits the profile. Full-bodied deep ruby colour with aromas and flavours of succulent black fruit, vanilla, toast and oak. There are some chalky tannins and I suggest decanting prior to serving. Medium cleansing acidity. Not an overly long finish. Pair with BBQ red meats.
Tasted: August 2015
This Californian red wine is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (93%) with the remainder being small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Syrah, Tannat and Malbec grapes. Light on the oak aging, with two-thirds being French oak barrels and the rest American wood. This is the full bottle size of this wine. The half size of 375 ml is also in this release. - Community Wine Reviews
