Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This creation from big producer Kaiken appeals to me on many fronts. I’ll tell you why.

From my glass soared elegant and worth-more-than-one-sniff scents like violets, dried herb, dark chocolate, cedar wood, and healthy doses of dark plum and blackberry. Plus, this liquid tastes like delicious, lively layers of dark plums and berries and it feels fabulous going down, thanks to its sensations from some silky pulling tannins, right touch acidity, super dryness, and its leans toward full bodied character.

Kaiken describes the grapes for this wine as organically grown in vineyards located in the Uco Valley with Argentina’s famed Mendoza wine region. They’re 100% Malbec by the way.

If I were you, I’d serve this one with grilled meats and ample plant-based stews.

Kaiken Ultra 2019 Malbec is a smoky, earthy, medium-bodied Malbec made from organically-grown grapes. Fragrant with ripe blueberry, earthy florals, dark chocolate, exotic spice and minerally notes creamy on the palate. Tannins are structured and dusty. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews
