Vintages Wine Panel: The grapes for this wine come from the same vineyards as Phelps’ more famous cult wine Insignia. Innisfree Cab is a forward and approachable wine with aromas and flavors of mulled spices, red fruit, coffee and cedar, with a long, concentrated finish that lingers on the palate. Ten months in French and American oak give it a slight smokiness. My note: A fantastic price from a fabulous producer. Rich, full-bodied with aromatic notes of cassis and black plums. Run don't walk to the liquor store for this one.

Innisfree Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled red meats.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
