Balanced, dry, and elegant with layered complexity and satisfaction on the palate and long finish. Mocha, espresso and blackberry are seductive. Great cellar candidate. Decant 2 hours and enjoy with steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled Portobello mushroom burgers, lamb Bolognese, grilled New York strip loin, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Joseph Phelps (2014) is a full-bodied, dry and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley. The red wine blend is 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. The wine matured for 18 months in a combination of both French and American oak. Look for blackberry, mocha and anise on the palate. Tannins are silky and this California Cab is made for drinking now, but could also hold in cellar for 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
