Reviews and Ratings

Clinton Lee AIWS.DWS.FWS.CSS.CSW rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

The appearance is not the classical pale intensity ruby color but one of deeper ruby displaying the 1000 plus growing degree days of the waitaki valley region. Notes of flourishing dark fruits clearly influenced by the climate of warmth and heat uncharacteristic of Pinot noir preference. The limestone seabed in the soil has immortalized itself in the puncturing acidity of this wine interlaced elegantly with minerality. Exquisite nose, succulent with a resoundingly long balanced finish. Acidity is discerningly crisp and the tannins more evident then expected but structurally top drawer and not displaying secondary notes of mushroom, game and leather yet on the nose. Outstanding wine that is eminently drinkable now but possesses the qualities required to hold for at least a further 5-7 years.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
