Reviews and Ratings

The famous “Z” Zinfandel is Jeff Runquist’s flagship wine. The 2010 vintage, like all previous vintages, comes from the Massoni Ranch in the southwestern end of the Shenandoah Valley in Amador County. Due to its northern exposure and elevation the grapes ripen later in the season and hang on to their acidity and sugar builds up before they are harvested. The result is more extract and tannins and bolder colors. The 2010 “Z” Zinfandel has a gorgeous deep purple color and aromas full of raspberries and plum. This continues on to the flavors where you will also pick up notes of currant, vanilla, hazelnut, mocha and caramel. Source: (Steve Ferree, examiner.com, Dec. 10, 2012) Full-bodied & Smooth

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
