Reviews and Ratings

Rich and full-bodied with smoky greatness and big aromas of deeply golden apple and campfire. Pair with grilled pork chops. Awesome. MINE: A pale lemon-green full-bodied South African Chenin Blanc from the Stellenbosch estate. Chenin Blanc grapes are from 33-year-old vines. Lovely lemon, lime and honey on the nose with a refreshing acidity, concentrated citrus, wild flower honey and a flinty minerality on the palate. The wine has seen some oak, but not new oak. Drink now and for the next five years. OTHER: Tim Atkin, MW, awarded this wine 90 points: "... a lightly wooded, focused Chenin with cox's apple and cinnamon spice notes, some leesy weight and taut acidity. Drink Date: 2018-21." (timatkin.com, South Africa Special Report 2017). OTHER: Like 15, 16 typical of the 'rich & ripe' chenin style with older-oak ferment & -ageing on lees. Composed & seamless, shows pinpoint balance of weight, finesse & power, fine acidity from 35% tank portion. Score - 5 Stars (out of 5) (Platter's South African Wine Guide, 2018). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
