Natalie's Score: 89/100

Full-bodied, supple and smooth Niagara red wine made from Syrah grapes, one of the most promising red wine grapes of Ontario. Notes of dark fruit and smoke. The Delaine Vineyards micro-climate creates a unique style. The wine is cold macerated and fermented for 20 days to preserve fruit freshness. The wine is then aged in French and American oak barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place. Pair with a rare pepper steak.

Syrah food pairings: BBQ chicken, beef stew, lamb cutlets, pasta.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
