Reviews and Ratings

From the Tuscany wine region, Il Palagio's Message In A Bottle 2015 is a full-bodied red wine blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Syrah and 15% Merlot from the provinces of Firenze and Siena. The wine was aged for one year in French oak barrel. In the late 1700s the Martelli family purchased the property and as their wealth grew, so did the estate. In 1819 it was sold to the Countess Carlotta Barbolani of Montauto, the widow of the Duke of San Clemente, and remained in this family’s hands for 150 years. At the beginning of the 20th Century, Duke Simone Vincenzo Velluti Zati di San Clemente commissioned several new buildings including a grain store, oil mill and wine production area, but the property fell into a state of disrepair. When Sting and Trudie came across the estate in 1999, they set about the task of restoring the house, the outbuildings and the land to its former glory. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
