An energetic and vibrant French white wine with lots of sass and attitude: nervy acidity overlaid with ripe peach and pear fruit with some zesty lime, grapefruit and green apple. Alsatian Riesling is a rare treat: dry and crisp, and ultra-food friendly. Pair this lovely number with vegetarian dishes and seafood.

Riesling food pairings: Munster cheese, duck liver pate, foie gras, butternut squash risotto, baby greens salad with fig dressing.

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Racy acidity is the backbone of this light-body dry Alsatian Riesling. An abundance of stone fruit, apple, citrus rind, blossoms and flint (burnt matchstick). The palate shows white grapefruit and some honey. Enjoy now or over the next 10 years. Serve well chilled.
Pair with German sausage, bacon and eggs, quiche Lorraine, cheese platter.
Tasted: April 2015
Geoffrey Lindsay reviewed this wine as follows:

I like to buy Hugel wines so here is another of my reviews of their wines. The Riesling is an extremely pale straw colour. Petrol, honeysuckle and lemon rind are my thoughts on the first smell. Mineral driven with wet stone, honeydew and cantaloupe, it smells of a summer field after a light morning dew. This has a very good, very strong chunk of acidity. It is all lemon and minerals on the palate. This Riesling is fairly viscous and mouth coating and also very dry. It has a quick sharp finish. This wine drank better on the second night, which leads me to suggest: buy a case and age at least 3 years. This wine is not ye ready but after a little of the acidity precipitates out and the fruit is allowed to shine it will be quite the charmer. I suggest if you must drink it now, as I did, grilled prawns or coconut shrimp are in order.
This vibrant, acidic French Riesling has lots of minerality and finishes with a lemon-lime lift. Pair with shellfish. - Community Wine Reviews
