Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Priya: A bit oily and funky as Alex would say. All three sommeliers at our tasting really enjoyed this one so who am I to disagree? While it wasn't my fave gruner of the evening it was elegant and fruity and super easy to drink. Nothing wrong with that. 90pts

Alex: Yes by a brilliantly complex nose. Very floral, peppery with dried pineapple, rich chamomile and citrus. Elegant, pure and fresh with some buttery lees element and a sturdy frame of acidity. Layered and decadent. A high level gruner. 92pts
Mymi Thesingingsommelier - Sommelier, FWS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This wine comes from the Traisental Valley in Reichersdorf in Austria, an area which lies along the same latitude as Beaune from the famous Burgundy region in France.
The grapes for this wine are selected from very tinny parcels of vineyards which are around 60 years old.
Of note, while most wines are vinified using oak as the wood to either ferment or age in, this wine was aged in traditional Acacia wood casks.
Lovely bright silvery yellow in color with a slight green hue.
Warm on the nose with a touch of cloves and preserved lemons.
Elegant, fruity and concentrated on the palate with a zingy acidity.
Great example of a high class Gruner!
This wine will be released in LCBO Vintages March 2, 2017.
