Reviews and Ratings

The Hope Estate winery is located in Australia's Hunter Valley, and all grapes are 100% estate grown. The grapes are crushed on the west coast then trucked across the Nullabor Plain to the winery where they're fermented and bottled. The wine undergoes an extensive maceration to achieve dense colour and flavour that explode on the palate. This Australian red wine blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes was produced by Michael Hope, who in the mid-1990s, charged careers from pharmacist to winemaker, opening his winery in the Hunter Valley, then expanding into Western Australia. The Cracker in Australian slang means "great" and is the cousin wine to a similarly aptly named blend called Ripper Shiraz. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
