The Columbia Valley is the heart of Washington State's wine production, with top-notch producers winning international respect. There is a great deal of diversity in mesoclimates and sub-regions. The 2014 vintage of Genesis is made from grapes grown in vineyards planted in the warm climate of Horse Heaven Hills and Wahluke Slope as well as the cooler region of Yakima Valley. A full-bodied and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon from one of Washington's most respected wineries. Lots of dark fruit and toasty oak. Pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: garlic lemon marinated beef long ribs grilled on the barbie, slow-cooked beef brisket, sautéed wild mushrooms over toast.

From the Columbia Valley, Washington, Hogue Genesis 2014 is a well-priced, dry and medium-plus bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. Juicy with dried cherry, spicy and woody flavours on the palate. Tannins are textured and this Cab Sauv also has great acidity for food. Pair with roasted pork ribs and slow-roasted beef blade roast and root vegetables. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
