From the Beamsville Bench in the Niagara Escarpment, the 2016 vintage of the Hidden Bench Estate sources Chardonnay grapes for this wine from those 100% organically grown on the estate and come from the Locust Lane, Felseck and Rosomel Vineyards. Savoury and mouth-watering with toasted almond slivers and green apple on the nose and palate. A full-bodied, balanced Niagara Chardonnay with rich layers of butterscotch and lime notes. Pair with roasted chicken.

Chardonnay food pairings: grilled seafood, pork tenderloin, lobster in butter sauce, ravioli in an Alfredo sauce.

Reviews and Ratings

The Chardonnay wine grapes for Hidden Bench Estate (2016) were organically grown on the estate and sourced from the Locust Lane, Felseck and Rosomel Vineyards in the Beamsville Bench, Niagara Escarpment. The wine is aged in 100% French oak - some new, second use and older and some also in concrete egg. The internationally acclaimed Hidden Bench is known for its artisanal, terroir-driven wines and this one does not disappoint. Ripe apple, pear, light herbs, vanilla and spice wrapped up in a stony acidity. Elegant and lean with great length. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
