Hattyús Tokaji Aszú from the Tokaj-Hegyalja region is an extraordinary five puttonyos dessert wine composed of Furmint and Zéta grapes kissed by noble rot, offering an enthralling bouquet of orange blossom syrup, preserved lemon and an intriguing array of aromatic herbs including chamomile and fennel with impeccably structured flavors of poached quince, dried apricots and mulling spices. Serve it chilled with creamy foie gras mousse where the wine's luscious sweetness complements the luxurious texture and delicate liver flavors, or enjoy it alongside walnut strudel as its caramel notes harmonize with the pastry's caramelized sugars while the herbal complexity adds unexpected depth. Winemaker Zoltán Demeter produces this exceptional wine at the Hattyús estate, whose name translates to "swan" and refers to the elegant birds that have graced the property's lakes for centuries in this storied wine region. The Tokaj-Hegyalja area gained fame as one of the world's first classified wine regions in 1737 and continues to produce some of the most sought-after sweet wines on earth, with this bottling cellaring beautifully until 2030.

Tokaji Aszú food pairings: custard tarts, biscotti, fresh fruit cups.
