Reviews and Ratings

Hamilton Russell 2018 Chardonnay is a well-crafted, well-balanced and well-made Walker Bay W.O. Chardonnay from Hamilton Russel Vineyards in Hemel-En-Aarde Valley. At less than two kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean's Walker Bay, the cooling influence of the cold Benguela current flowing up from Antarctica flows over the vineyard with the prevailing southeast winds allowing for cooler days but warmer nights and warmer winters. The overall climate is Mediterranean. A Chardonnay lover's Chardonnay, rich, concentrated with ripe peach, toasty oak and balanced with vibrant, lip-smacking acidity. Hamilton Russel Vineyards sees the strongest maritime influence of any winegrowing area in South Africa. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
