Guarda Rios' Signature from Alentejo is a luscious, medium-bodied red wine blending Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet with notes of bitter chocolate, blackberry and dried oregano. This dry wine displays controlled tannins and generous fruit that will continue to develop over the next five years. Serve it at room temperature with gourmet burgers as the wine's rich character stands up to the charred meat, or pair it with roasted chicken with olives and tomato sauce where the wine's savory profile complements the Mediterranean flavors. Winemaker João Portugal Ramos crafts this food-friendly blend from Alentejo's sun-drenched plains, where warm days and cool nights create wines of remarkable concentration and velvety texture with gentle acidity. Guarda Rios represents exceptional quality from Portugal's largest and most exciting wine region, showcasing indigenous varieties alongside international grapes at accessible prices. This slightly herbal wine earned 90 points at the 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards and represents excellent value and will drink beautifully through 2031.

Food pairings: vegetarian chilli, gourmet burgers, BBQ ribs, roast chicken with olives and tomato sauce.
