A cool-climate Anderson Valley Pinot Noir produced by the Duckhorn Wine Company. Bright on the nose with pink florals, fresh cherry, mint, cinnamon spice and supple tannins finishing long and satisfying on the palate.
Pinot Noir food pairings: roast chicken, grilled chicken breast stuffed with Pisano ham and Gouda.
Delightful Duck Wine

From winemakers Dan & Margaret Duckhorn (Duckhorn Vineyards), Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2016 is a beautiful, lush, expression of Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. On the nose and palate there’s fruit (ripe strawberry, blueberry, cherry, slight animal notes, spice (cinnamon and nutmeg), wet earth, forest floor, and vanilla from the oak ageing. With lovely fresh acidity, texture, a medium plus body, firm integrated tannins and a beautiful balance it has an intriguingly pleasant dusty character.
Would be lovely with roasted turkey, a charcuterie and cheese board and… a homemade strawberry shortcake with a balsamic reduction drizzle!
California hosts a profound diversity of soils and climates that offer a unique range of expressions for Pinot Noir, one of the most regionally expressive varieties in the world.
Tasted as part of the 'California Wine Month: Expressions of California Pinot Noir’, a panel discussion and tasting that explored the distinctive character of Pinot Noir from the entire length of the state, bringing together some of its most celebrated winemakers to discuss their insights and experience with the variety; moderated by writer and speaker Elaine Chukan Brown and California Wines Canada and featuring panelists Megan Gunderson Paredes, Winemaker, WALT Wines; Greg Morthole, Winemaker, Davis Bynum Rodney Strong Vineyards; Mike Waller, Winemaker, Calera Winery; Paul Clifton, Director of Winemaking and Greg Brewer, Winemaker, Brewer Clifton.
|Produced by the Duckhorn Company, Goldeneye 2016 Pinot Noir is a very bright and vibrant PN with pink florals, kirsch, mint and sweet baking spice flavours on the palate. Supple and easy to love. Drink or hold. - Community Wine Reviews|
