Gaja Sperss 2016 Barolo needs no introduction. This Barolo is stunning (with 16,000 bottles released) and celebrates several milestones. This wine is crafted from 100% Nebbiolo and is elegant with great finesse, fragrant with ripe red berry, blue florals, anise and a mix of baking spice flavours. This wine is a great cellaring candidate and it does need some time in cellar to mellow, marry and show its best. Try in 2025, but the wine will continue to evolve over the next 30 years.

Barolo food pairings: roasted game meats, venison tenderloin Wellington, rosemary rack of lamb.
