Gabriel Meffre's Sainte-Catherine 2015 is a full-bodied and juicy red wine blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache and Cinsault from the Gigondas wine region. Lots of ripe dark fruit, dark berries, tobacco leaf, dried herbs and toasty oak on the finish. The Gigondas district was awarded Rhône Cru status in 1971, a very coveted designation. Decant and pour with a roast leg of lamb, or hold in cellar for three years.

Food pairings: roast leg of lamb, roast crown pork and corn niblets, roast Cornish hens and wild rice..

The wines tend to be somewhat lighter in style (on the pocketbook) than the neighbouring wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
