From Frescobaldi, Tenuta Perano Riserva 2017 is a dry, full-bodied, aromatic Italian red wine produced from 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot wine grapes. Floral with bright red plums, black cherry aromas on the nose, this is a juicy and elegant red with ripe cherry, blueberry, plum, fine herbs, mocha and sweet baking spices generous on the palate. Tannins are fine and firm. Good now, better in a 2023. Drink or cellar for 10 years.

Chianti Classico food pairings: meaty lasagne, mushroom risotto, pasta Bolognese.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
