Reviews and Ratings

Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a rich, full bodied Zinfandel with its signature heat that is balanced nicely with notes of sweet black tea, raspberry compote, prunes and vanilla. I would enjoy this luscious wine with BBQ ribs in a maple glaze with a side of roasted sweet potatoes.
Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A big, bold, full-bodied Zinfandel from Lodi, this wine opens with black berry and raspberry jam aromas and tastes. There are notes of nutmeg and clove spices on the palate too. Medium tannins and oak evident. This pairs well with anything grilled on the BBQ or with sweet/spicy dishes. Fruit-forward.
From Lodi, California Freakshow 2017 Zinfandel is produced by Michael David. Lush and intense, this full-bodied Zin is ripe with rich raspberry, dark berry, plum compote and sweet baking spice flavours on the palate. Delicious with BBQ pork breast ribs. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
