This towering big Spanish red needs to be decanted at least an hour, but two is better. It completely transformed in the glass after this amount of time as it almost mute at the beginning. Gorgeous aromas of cedary black fruit support the high alcoholic content. Layered and satisfying. Great price.

Reviews and Ratings

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

Deep damson plum red colour with an inviting bouquet of red berries, caramel and vanilla (6-month aging in new oak barrels). Rich in the mouth with flavours of red licorice, plum and a suggestion of balsamic. Ideal for charcuterie or young sheeps milk cheeses.

Rustic, tannic, savoury, meaty with delicious aromas of black fruit, mocha, and a savoury meaty mid-palate flavour. This full-bodied Spanish red wine is made from the traditional Tempranillo grapes. They were selected from low yielding vines and offer red berry aromas. Paired with cured Spanish meats, ham, chorizo sausage and strong cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
