Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

An interesting blend composed of 87% Cab Saub, along with 8% Malbec and 5% Cab Franc.
Something worthy of noting is that, in California, the declared grape on the bottle only has to comprise 85% of the blend. This gives winemakers the ability to craft some unique examples of Cab in California that amplify some aspects of the varietal, by adding something like Malbec, providing heft, or Cab Franc, which gives an elevated herbal elegance.
This Cab has some lovely ruby and purple hues to it. Glasscoating. Lifted aromas of tobacco, plum, blackberry, and cherry.
Soft cherry, bramble, and raspberry jam flavours. Some subtle bergamot and tobacco notes. The oak is quite tasteful and in balance with the body of the wine. This is a more cheerful and sophisticated wine from Coppola. Might cellar for about 5-7 years.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
