Marynissen Fogolar Picone Vineyard Cabernet Franc delivers concentrated dark fruit flavors with notes of plum, forest floor and aromatic violet. It's dry and medium-to-full bodied with a velvety texture. Serve it slightly below room temperature alongside roasted lamb chops where its structured tannins will complement the rich meat, or cellar it through 2028 and beyond. Winemaker Marc Pistor crafts this wine from Cabernet Franc vines planted in the early 1980s at Picone Vineyard in Vinemount Ridge, making them among Ontario's oldest plantings of this variety. This pairing-friendly wine also shines with wild mushroom and thyme risotto, where its earthy character echoes the fungi while the wine's freshness cuts through the dish's creaminess.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: Margherita pizza, pasta with cherry tomato marinara sauce.
