A very pleasant cool-climate Cabernet Franc with absolutely no bell pepper notes (yay). Full-bodied and smooth with ripe black plum aromas. This wine was aged for just over a year in oak barrels. Pair with a juicy steak.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: cabbage rolls stuffed with corned beef, gourmet hamburgers, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Loved this Cabernet Franc! Aged in a selection of new and used French oak barrels for approximately one year. There's not a hint of green in this Cab Franc - only cherry, red berries, violets, sweet baking spices and toffee. Refreshing Niagara acidity and a lingering pepper / vanilla latte finish which I loved! An elegant table guest. Enjoy tonight with braised lamb shank or lamb burger; meat and cheese platter.

Fielding Estate Winery was awarded 25 awards (including Best in Show at the Royal Winter Fair) in 2016. This 2015 Cabernet Franc from the Niagara Peninsula wine growing region has incredible structure with crushed raspberries and a smoky, flinty finish. Very drinkable and elegant, this Cabernet Franc is a testament to Fielding's winemaking and winemaker. - Community Wine Reviews
