A fragrant Niagara Gewurztraminer with rich pink florals, ripe white-fleshed stone-fruit and ginger spice aromas on the nose. Dry with rosewater, ginger spice and soft orange zest flavours mouth-coating on the palate. Finishing lush with mouth-watering acidity. Pair with mildly spiced curries, spicy chicken wings or grilled orange-ginger prawns.

Food pairings: turkey or chicken breast, mild savoury cheese, mild curries.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This limited production (171 cases) Gewurztraminer from the Glen Elgin Vineyard (Niagara Peninsula VQA), shows rich and delicious pear, apple, honey, herbs, and subtle lychee notes. The palate showcases creamy and refreshing orchard fruit with delicious wild flower honey persisting on the finish. A wine all will love as it’s incredibly versatile, approachable, and completely loveable. Enjoy 2019-2026 with spicy fare, seafood, and BBQ. Tasted August 2019. 90 points. From the Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Escarpment wine region, Featherstone Phoenix 2018 is a fragrant with rose petal and soft lychee aromas on the nose -- you know it's Gew. Lovely and rich on the palate, this Gewurztraminer is off-dry with flavours of peach, lychee, honey, nectarine and ginger spice wrapped up in soft orange zest finishing with mouth-watering acidity. Lightly chill and enjoy with grilled shellfish dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
