A rich, unctuous Niagara Gewurztraminer with baking spice aromas in a huge and lovely way, some musky rose petal but not a lot of lychee notes. Finishes with ginger spice. Try with mild curries. MINE: Featherstone Phoenix 2017 is a musky rose petal and lychees on the nose -- you know it's Gew. Lovely and rich on the palate, this Gewurztraminer is off-dry with flavours of peach, lychee, honey and sweet cake spice wrapped up in soft orange zest. Chill and enjoy on its own. OTHER: This value-packed, limited-production gem leaps from the glass with aromas of rosewater, piquant spice and floral notes. It spreads over the palate creamy smooth, even a bit oily with generous texture and fabulous balance showcasing palate flavours of citrus tang, ripe nectarine and sharp, fresh ginger root. It's absolutely delicious with a dry, lengthy, mouth-watering finish and a tell-tale gewürztraminer bite on the aftertaste. Remove from the frig 20 minutes before serving and pour with grilled and buttered prawns or lightly spiced chicken wings. A Vic Picks. Score - 91 (Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com, May 20, 2019). - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
