Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Napa Cab from a hot vintage that has a great savoury experience in a market oversaturated with boozy fruit-bombs. This one is refreshingly different. It has lots of bold French oak. It was aged for about 19 months in all new oak. It also has a dash of Merlot, Cab Franc, amd Petit Verdot to round out all of the sharp edges.
Plump and deeply coloured. Lots of purple and sanguinary red hues. Glass-staining.
Aromatics of the french oak is present, but in balance with savoury spice from the grapes. Cardamom, vanilla, violet, espresso, caper, and bluish-black berry compote.
The palate is rich and generous. It is a heavily structured wine that will keep for at least a decade. Bold red and black fruit, espresso, more savoury spices, and tobacco ash.
Bold and beautiful. Good value for an impactful red. Pair it with an aged steak, woth some roast mushrooms or chimichurri. It can stand up to a lot of flavour.
Black is the soul of this Cabernet Sauvignon wine Faust from the Napa Valley wine region. The 2015 vintage is full-bodied and very intense. Could benefit from some time in cellar to unwind. Deep purple in the glass, on the nose this spicy red is showing blackberry, cassis, cedar spice and toast. - Community Wine Reviews
