Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Rustic and traditional styling with sour cherry, smoke, earthy, and rose petal aromas. Mouthwatering acidity, trippy tannins, and full body. Tannins do not release their grip quickly as the palate evolves from red fruit to oak to floral and earth. Long finish with a pleasant baking spice tingle on the palate. A young red with a bright future. Try with Vitello Tonnato, a cold veal roast with tuna and caper sauce.
Fattoria Le Pupille Morellino Di Scansano 2015 Riserva is a full-bodied 85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante and 5% Ciliegiolo red wine blend sourced from La Carla vineyard, Maiano and Bozzino vineyards, San Vittorio, Vignacci Alta and Vecchie Pupille vineyard aged eight months 95% in stainless-steel tank and 5% in previous-use oak barrel. Look for morello cherry, ripe red berries, savoury and satisfying with silky tannins. Enjoy now with a veal Parmesan or Masala dish. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
