The 2007 vintage of the Barbi Brunello di Montalcino is extremely mature with aromas of tanned leather, dried herbs and cigar box. Solid tannins so decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Brunello Di Montalcino food pairings: meat lover's pizza, prime rib, roast quail.

Reviews and Ratings

Fattoria Dei Barbi Riserva (2007) is a rich Brunello Di Montalcino from the Tuscany wine region. The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Fermentation with skins is 18 days with a gradual and controlled temperature is stainless steel tanks. The wine is then racked into Slovenian oak barrels and matured for a further two years with four more in glass bottle. Drink now and for the next six years. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
