Reviews and Ratings

Martha Kelly AIWS - CS rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby in colour, with soft, ripe tannins and refreshing acidity, this wine has flavours of strawberry, dark cherry, black pepper, beet root, vanilla, violets, savoury mushroom, and blueberry jam.
The flavours linger on the elegant, warming finish.
Drink now, or cellar until 2017.
Pair with a traditional harvest turkey, gourmet burgers, or slightly chilled on its own.
Date tasted: February 2014.
Elk Cove is one of the most venerable producers in Oregon – a relatively young wine region in a global context. They’ve been making wine for over 35 years, and have proven their mettle as Pinot specialists. This impressive specimen shows plenty of rich peppery blackberry and raspberry character, with impeccable balance. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, Jan. 2013

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
