A great value Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) port. BV wines spend longer in barrel (4-6 years) than vintage ports, and mature and drink earlier than vintage ports. Love the figgy, blackberry jam and anise flavours on this one. Pair with fruitcake.

Port food pairings: blue cheese, nuts, almond torte, chocolate.

Reviews and Ratings

Dow's 2012 LBV Port is a mix of savoury and sweet, dark berry jam, raisin, fig with savoury herbs, dried tobacco leaf flavours wrapped up in a delicate smoky finish. Warming at 20% abv, but sooo smooth and lush. Pair with holiday fruitcake or creamy blue cheeses and roasted nuts. Nice now, better in a couple of years to start showing its best. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
