Reviews and Ratings

Lesley Saito - Sommelier, ISG rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

It is a beautiful sunny day here in Vancouver, BC, and I thought I would write about a wine that is so pretty in colour with its salmon pink hue that it makes you smile as if you had woken up to the sun shining on your face. I am talking about a 6th generation family owned estate that dates back to 1850, Domaine Sourdais and their Chinon Rose 2012 of the Loire Valley, France. 100% Cabernet Franc with a fragrant nose of rose petals, strawberries, and savoury herbs. This light, youthful, low alcohol rose really satisfies. The palate is bursting with bright red fruit, sweet red bell pepper, and refreshing minerality that provides for a long, rich, juicy finish. Serve with salmon, cream cheese, dill pinwheels and toast an early spring! Only $22 at BC private liquor stores.

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Rex Pickett, Sideways

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
