Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

This is a beautifully crafted Ontario red blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It's melt in the mouth rich with fleshy black berries, plum, cherry, red berries, sweet baking spices, dried herbs and violets. This medium-bodied red wine has medium+ balanced acidity and silky tannins. The length is long on a fruit driven finish. Worth every cent of $40. This is a buy 2 wine. Enjoy one today and the other in 5 years. Pair with your favourite cut of red meat.
Tasted: June 2015
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Wow! Very nice premium Ontario red blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc that the renonwed Thomas Bachelder has crafted to perfection. Sweet spice, loads of dark field berries, delicate oak, herbs, and sweet dill notes on the nose. Medium-full bodied, the palate is rich and layered, with all components perfectly in balance. A fantastic effort from this Niagara winery. Tasted June 2015. 92+ points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
The Niagara winery Queylus originally made just Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines, but has branched out recently into Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The grapes for this red wine blend grow on vines that are 4 years old, and the wine is 85% Merlot in the blend. - Community Wine Reviews
