Vintages Wine Panel: The village of Visan is prime Côtes du Rhône real estate. Domaine Montmartel has crafted a creamy, medium-weight beauty with dark notions on the nose: blackcurrant, black plum, black olive, and black pepper are interwoven with kirsch, smoked meat and oak spice. Soft on the palate, with tantalizing fruit and spice characteristics, this would be a perfect match for a spicy stew – and a viewing of your favorite film noir. My note: Love it! Fresh cherry-cedar notes give a savory, mouth-watering taste followed by more ripe dark berries and forest-at-dawn freshness. Full-bodied but smooth. So satisfying.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
