Vintages Wine Panel: Top 100 wine and a winner of a Gold Medal at Vin de Pays de France. Syrah Les Épices is aptly named, with a nose featuring typical varietal notes such as peppercorn, smoke, and bacon accenting oodles of ripe black fruit. It all comes together with beautiful balance on the palate and lingers on the wine’s substantial finish. This would be a great companion for some serious chili or a mountain of barbecued ribs. My note: Very pleasing black pepper and dark berries. Long, warm finish and full-bodied weight. Great for meat lovers’ pizza.

Syrah food pairings: chili, barbecued ribs, pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Dan Trcka Wine Blogger rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This nicely aromatic, Gold Medal winner has a medium to full body with FRUITY to integrated notes of strawberry, red currant, blackberry, violets and green pepper/brettyness. Tannins are subtle to refined (decant for 30 to 60 min) and the finish is medium. My impression: NICE, 90 pts - would recommend it to lovers of typical French reds if it was still widely available. Tasted in Aug/10 during French wine tasting, well liked.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
