Reviews and Ratings

Domaine Lazaridi Oenotria Land Cabernet Sauvignon Agiorgitiko from Attica, Central Greece P.G.I. is a powerful, full-bodied red of impressive depth and concentration, grown on the organically farmed vineyards that overlook Lake Marathon near Athens, where the Parnitha mountain range lends the fruit a distinctive freshness and energy. It opens with a brooding nose of blackcurrant, dried black cherry, bitter chocolate, and a generous wave of cedar, clove, and toasted oak from 18 to 24 months in French barrels, while the Agiorgitiko woven into the blend works quietly to soften the Cabernet structure, lending a silky, supple thread to the otherwise firm and concentrated frame. Serve it at room temperature and give it time, as this wine has the architecture to evolve and reward through the mid-2030s. Production oenologist Giannis Oxyzidis leads the winemaking with guidance from legendary Bordeaux consultant Michel Rolland, whose advisory relationship with the estate since 2004 has shaped these reds into some of the most internationally recognised wines in Greece. Fascinatingly, the Oenotria Land project was inspired by the ancient Greek mythological figure Oenotros, son of King Lycaon and believed to be the first Greek to cultivate vines beyond his homeland, making this estate a deeply symbolic as well as vinously distinguished undertaking. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
