Reviews and Ratings

Domaine Hatzimichalis Alepotrypa Vineyard Assyrtiko from Central Greece is a dry, medium-bodied white wine revealing wet river stones and volcanic rock with lovely jasmine, passion fruit and lemon, creating a crisp, expressive wine with a wonderful ability to convey the mineral nuances of the soil. Serve it chilled with grilled calamari with lemon and garlic, where the wine's crisp character and citrus notes complement the tender seafood while its volcanic minerality echoes the ocean-fresh flavors, or pair it with lemon chicken with roasted potatoes as the wine's bright acidity and jasmine notes harmonize with the citrus-infused dish. Winemaker Dimitris Hatzimichalis oversees production at Domaine Hatzimichalis, a pioneering Greek estate founded in 1973 in the Atalanti Valley that was among the first to introduce international varieties to Greece while championing indigenous grapes like Assyrtiko beyond its famous Santorini origins. While Assyrtiko is known for its Santorini origin, this wine showcases the variety's prized ability to express terroir throughout Greece and can be enjoyed now through 2027. - Community Wine Review

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
