Smooth and juicy on the palate with bright flavours of ripe cherry, raspberry and cake spice with a lingering ripe red berry and pepper spice finish, this medium-bodied 100% Gamay red is produced by Jean Bérerd & Fils. Vibrant acidity for food. Pair with pepper steak.

Food pairings: grilled chicken, roast breast of veal, beef tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Ripe wild strawberry, strawberry jam, and raspberry intertwine with black pepper and violet. Soft tannins with gentle grip, bright and fresh acidity, and ample body. Ripe red fruit and dark fruit, especially raspberry and blackberry, dominate the palate and finish while allowing replays of pepper and violet. An excellent example of the style well suited to seared duck breast with cherries and figs, steak frites, or a spread of French charcuterie and cheeses.
Domaine De La Madone Le Perréon 2017 is a vibrant , medium-bodied Beaujolais Village with vibrant red berry nose; dry and zesty on the palate with ripe red raspberry, cherry and cracked pepper spicy flavours on the palate. Terrific and well-priced 100% Gamay. - Community Wine Reviews
