Medicinal cherry on the nose of this robust French red wine. Mouth-coating with loads of body and texture. A rich, deep southern French red wine with cherry liquor and cassis notes. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Food pairings: lamb cutlets, marinated pepper steaks, Muscovy duck, grilled bison strip steaks.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Sour cherries and spices on the nose. Measured fruits and some tart characteristics on the palate. Makes me look forward to the 2015 vintage.
Domaine De La Colline St-Jean Vacqueyras (2014) is a deep ruby colour red wine blend of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre grapes. About 70% of the wine was matured in concrete tanks and 30% in oak barrels. Crushed raspberry, black cherry and a touch of sweet cake spice can be found on the palate. Tannins are still grippy and this wine could hold in cellar for five years to show its best. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
